Katie Myerholtz, FNP-C Appointed Assistant Medical Director

She's a busy sports mom, a native of Oak Harbor, and recognized throughout the region for providing exceptional medical care to area families.  Community Health Services (CHS) is excited to welcome Katie Myerholtz, FNP-C, to our medical staff in a leadership role as Assistant Medical Director.

Katie comes to CHS with ten years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner and served as Associate Medical Director for seven of the ten years at another regional Health Center.  Prior to completing her Nurse Practitioner training, Katie was a Critical Care Nurse in a Medical Intensive Care Unit.  Her broad scope of experience in patient care, compassion for each and every patient, and her extensive academic and medical training makes Katie an outstanding provider and leader.

As Assistant Medical Director, Katie works closely with Dr. Komal Masood, Medical Director, to provide leadership for Medical and Behavioral Health providers as well as overseeing the Nursing Department.  Katie also maintains her medical practice, seeing patients at the CHS Fremont Main site.  She's currently accepting new patients.

Katie is a graduate of The University of Toledo, where she received her Master of Science in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Malone University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.  

When asked why she chose to become a Family Nurse Practitioner, Katie responded that she enjoys the Family Medicine aspect.  She likes to get to know her patients and go through the different stages of life. "It's a partnership," Katie explained. "My patients are my partners when it comes to their health. We make decisions together and we're partners to make sure they get the best care possible and the care they need."
