Sophie Aldrich, Director of SAHEC was featured in the National Health Education Centers Newsletter!  SAHEC is the only Area Health Education Center (AHEC) sponsored by a Federally Qualified Health Center.

Favorite part of your AHEC role:

Hearing feedback from medical students returning from their clinical rotations. Some students are reluctant to to go a "rural medicine" site, but are blown away by the excellent comprehensive training they experience. Going forward, I'm most excited to explore what it means to be the first AHEC in Ohio to be hosted by a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).

What are your favorite things to do outside your job:

I enjoy going to the movies and visiting wineries. I also like to try new foods and experiment with new recipes for me and my friends.
